दिसंबर 2019 में मैंने फोरवे में जेएलआर वाटरफोर्ड से एफ-टाइप 2.0 खरीदा। यह बिल्कुल नया था (0 किमी) लेकिन पहले ही पंजीकृत हो चुका था।
मैंने विशेष रूप से सेवा अंतराल के बारे में पूछताछ की और मुझे बताया गया कि यह या तो अधिकतम २६,००० किमी या साल में एक बार था। मुझे यह भी बताया गया था कि जब सेवा की आवश्यकता होगी तो वाहन मुझे संकेत देगा। (मेरे पिछले वाहन ने भी ऐसा ही किया था - डैश पर एक संदेश दिखाई दिया जो आपको सूचित करेगा कि इसकी सर्विसिंग की जानी है।)
चूंकि अभी इसे खरीदे हुए 1 साल से भी कम समय हुआ है, इसलिए मैंने जेएलआर सेंचुरियन (लाजर मोटर कंपनी) को इसकी पहली सेवा बुक करने के लिए फोन किया, जिसकी घड़ी में 5,000 किमी से अधिक की दूरी थी।
मुझे सूचित किया गया था कि वाहन अपनी सेवा के लिए देर हो चुकी है और उस पर 2,500 रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया जाएगा। जाहिर तौर पर इसे जून में पहले ही सेवित किया जाना चाहिए था।
मुझे सूचित किया गया था कि सेवा योजना जून 2019 में सक्रिय हो गई थी और मुझे जून 2020 के अंत से पहले कार की सर्विसिंग कर लेनी चाहिए थी।
मैंने मामले को सुलझाने और हल करने के लिए जेएलआर दक्षिण अफ्रीका ग्राहक सेवा से संपर्क किया।
जेएलआर दक्षिण अफ्रीका ने मुझे सूचित किया कि यह उन कई दस्तावेजों में से एक है जिन पर मैंने खरीद के दिन हस्ताक्षर किए थे। क्योंकि मैंने दस्तावेज़ पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं, ग्राहक के रूप में मेरे प्रति उनकी कोई ज़िम्मेदारी नहीं है और मुझे दंड शुल्क का भुगतान करना होगा। तथ्य यह है कि कोई सेवा अनुस्मारक प्रकट नहीं हुआ, आसानी से अनदेखा किया गया प्रतीत होता है।
