AmberGames is the largest online game developer in the Baltic region. The company was founded in 2006 in Riga, Latvia. The portfolio of the company started to form in 2006 with the client-based game Dark Swords, and right after that in 2007 the company introduced the game Islands, which was later renamed to First Pirate. In 2008 AmberGames released online medieval strategy game 1100AD, which is considered to be one of the most popular and most recognized games from the company. All games by AmberGames are free to play, but for each game the company develops an additional and unique monetization system.
